ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Government of Tamilnadu established Periyar University at Salem in 1997. The university got the 12(B) and 2f status from the University Grants Commission and has been re - accredited by NAAC with A grade. The NIRF - MHRD has ranked Periyar University as 5th among the state Universities and 90th in the National level.

The Department of Clinical Nutrition Dietetics ventured with the motto of empowering our students to be the influential leaders in the industry of Nutrition and Dietetics in 2016. Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics is a burgeoning field with full of possibilities and one that is expected to see a remarkable bloom over the next decade. The motive of our programme.

the motive of our programme is not only preparing students to earn the academic credential, but to also pursue, to function in society as a professional upon which practitioner competence can be built. Our academic preparation backs continued proficient growth to meet personal, professional, community and worldwide evolving health care need and it is committed to improving and advancing the profession of nutrition and Dietetics through research, education and advocacy.
